Unfortunately, I have to partially agree with Warmer. My spouse and I have always enjoyed the food at both the Coquitlam and Langley Pasta Polo locations. However, while the service at the Coquitlam location is always excellent, the service at the Langley location can be inconsistent. We have experienced everything from "Great" all the way down to "Pathetic". I don't generally write reviews. However, I was so disappointed with the experience my spouse and I had today, I felt compelled to share it. Today we arrived at the restaurant at around 345 pm. After being seated and waiting about 10 mins for the server, we placed our order. At about that time, another couple was seated in the booth beside us. They too waited about 10 mins and then were asked for their order. They attempted to order from the lunch menu and were told that was now over as it was after 4pm. They were not pleased and stated that they were ready to order before 4pm, but the server did not show up until after. The server was indifferent and said nothing could be done. At around 415, another couple was seated in a booth on the other side of us. After placing their order, we noticed they were provided with a bread/bruschetta basket. The same was provided to the couple on the other side of us. Our server came by a few mins later to tell us our food was almost ready and that she was going on a break, but another server would be helping us. I inquired why we had not been given bread when all other diners had. She indicated bread was only a part of the dinner service provided after 4pm. However, to her credit, she did get some bread and bring it for us. At 430, the couple seated at 415 was provided their meal. The couple seated at 4 was also provided their meal. When a server came by again, I asked what was the status of our order as it had been over 40 mins. I explained that both couples beside us had come in well after us and were already eating. She said, "Oh really, I don't know, I am not your server." She then went over to talk to our original server who was sitting in the corner on a break with her boyfriend (and amazingly, eating something from the kitchen). Shortly after, the chef came out and asked what the problem was and that he had heard we said we had waited over 40 mins. I said, yes, it has been about 40 mins. I also mentioned that people that came in 20-30 mins after us were already eating. He told us the reason was that pizza takes a lot longer to make than what the others were eating. I looked over at the couple beside us a and it looked like 1 of them was eating some kind of meat dish (apparently pizza requires 40 mins to be made while a steak can be made in 15?). He then said that we had only been waiting 20 mins as he had our ticket and it had the time on it. He then left and went over to the server in the corner. We overheard him say that he didn't know what we were talking about as we had only been waiting 20 mins. The server said nothing. She could have advised him we had been seated and orders taken before 4pm as dinner service started at that time. But she did not. About 10 mins later, we got our food. It was good as normal. But it wasn't very enjoyable as we were quite disappointed in the attitude of the staff. I explained to our server that we normally tip fairly generously, but were not leaving a tip due to the poor service. I explained I was particulary disappointed in the comments made by the Chef. Rather than trying to easily resolve a problem that could have easily been resolved with a simple "we are sorry we screwed up", he chose to belittle our concerns without even properly understanding the situtation. It was obvious that either the server or the kitchen screwed up, but noone was willing to accept blame. It's too bad as we always enjoy the food, but we will NEVER be dining at the Langley Pasta Polo again. We'll limit our Pasta Polo visits to the Coquitlam location as its food and service are far superior anyways ..More Reviews
